At Fortress of Hope, we believe every child can thrive with the proper support, and every family deserves a trusted partner on their educational journey. The Hope Educational Resource Collective was founded to provide that support through personalized tutoring, advocacy, and resources that meet each student’s unique needs.

Led by Adero Maia Carey, M.Ed., a certified educator with over 20 years of experience, Fortress of Hope is rooted in compassion, real-life understanding, and academic expertise. Adero holds a Master’s in Education, a Bachelor’s in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a Level 3 Louisiana Certified Educator with experience in gifted education and is pursuing additional certification in Special Education. As both a teacher and mother, Adero brings heart, skill, and firsthand insight to the work she does with families.

Families receive personalized one-on-one tutoring—virtually or in person—focused on their child’s learning style, pace, and goals. From reading and math support to enrichment and homework help, sessions build confidence and close learning gaps.

We also offer hands-on advocacy, assisting with IEPs, 504 Plans, and BIPs through meeting support, document review, and letter writing to ensure students receive the services they deserve.

Through coaching and consultation, we empower caregivers to advocate effectively and make informed decisions. Families also gain access to high-quality, curated resources that promote both academic progress and emotional growth.
